Louisiana Museum

The Louisiana Museum is a wonderful modern art museum a short drive or train ride away from Copenhagen. It’s a series of connecting rooms with great architecture, art, a nice sculpture garden, and a beautiful view of the water. I highly recommend going.

The main exhibit this time was “Colour in Art”. I liked the work of artist Yayoi Kusama. The picture is of a black room with lights reflecting in mirrors and water.

Danish Breakfast

Breakfast = krydderboller med ost og marmelade – toast with cheese and jam.

Winter Beach

This beach is just a five minute walk from the summerhouse. I can’t wait for the snow to melt.

Danish Sink Face

This sink face makes me smile whenever I walk into the kitchen. Isn’t he cute?

Apartment

I feel so lucky. My apartment is in a great location, drenched in sunlight all day long and has a mini balcony. I can’t wait to plant some flowers!

The Snow Globe

Here’s the first picture I took of the view from my dad’s apartment. There were huge flurries swirling about that made it look like a beautiful snow globe.

So moving to Denmark isn’t that scary for me. I’ve been coming to Denmark to visit my dad since 1987. My sister and I would make the trek for the entire summer and spend majority of the time at my dad’s summerhouse. We’d read, make friendship bracelets, lay at the beach, visit relatives and eat a lot of licorice and ice cream.

It’s going to be fun for me to explore the country of my birth, perfect my Danish (I can understand it better than I can speak it), and take pictures. Stay tuned!

Clothes I Packed

Here’s an illustration of the clothes I packed for my move to Copenhagen. My mom has taught me well when it comes to packing lightly but I did “splurge” on bringing a few extra cardigans and shirts. I had planned to illustrate everything I packed but it was taking too much time and I’m not sure if you really care that I brought socks and underwear and mini cadbury eggs! There’s a few other random things I brought too, but that will be revealed later on.

Getting Ready

Safety Cone is getting ready for the trip overseas! He’s proudly wearing his new viking hat that is a replica of the hat I made for my Danish party. This creation was made by my craftastic friend, Alicia, who is the crochet queen. Check out her awesome crafts and follow her safety cone adventures.

Sewing Projects

I’ve been making a handful of organizers for my trip. So far I’ve made a padded sunglass holder, business card holder and a little felted owl for my i-touch. These all fit in a nice little zippered pouch.
